HOW IT STARTED
OKA b.’s 24-year old parent company, Okabashi, launched the OKA b. brand in the summer of 2005. This higher-tier product line incorporates sleeker designs and a more polished, stylish look than its sister brand, Okabashi, which roots in the therapeutic footwear arena. Expanding on that market, the cornerstone of OKA b.’s mission is to appeal to fashion conscious shoppers, but still promote healthy living through comfortable shoes with therapeutic benefits.
OKA b. design studios are located just outside metro Atlanta in the beautiful rolling countryside of Buford Georgia. There, a diverse team of designers from varied backgrounds ranging from sculpture to architecture, work together to develop these innovative, fashionable shoes. They have found the practicality, comfort and simple design of OKA b. products are the guiding features that appeal to customers. The designers have combined these elements to brilliantly create cute and colorful options for women, and more subdued yet sleek styles for men.
