History
When Aldo Furlanetto founded Furla in 1927 to satisfy women’s post-war desire for knick-knacks, small leather goods and hair accessories, little did he imagine that Furla would evolve into top-tier accessories brand renown the world over. The first boutique opened in 1955 in Bologna on via Ugo Bassi and a business was established offering made in Italy quality products. Now, Furla designs the collection of luxury accessories based on elegance and femininity, combined with high quality artisanal details: handbags, small leather goods, jewelry, belts, watches, scarves, hats, gloves and women’s footwear. Determined, passionate and dynamic, Aldo’s daughter, Giovanna Furlanetto, is now the chairman of Furla.
Furla Collection
Over the years, Furla has always continued to invest to ensure constant innovation in styles. Furla remains true to the core philosophy of appealing to a woman who loves fashion, but is not a victim of it. She looks for newness that reflects her own personal style. Feminine and cultured is the woman who inspires Furla.
Furla has significantly increased the quality and craftsmanship by employing top-flights hides such as full grain calfskin, often naturally dyed and hand-greased. The workmanship has also become more labor-intensive and a special attention goes into the details and finishes of each bag. Furla has been evolving its store concept and constantly expanding its retail international network.
