Born in Marseilles, France, in 1944, Philippe Charriol at first worked as an executive of the Cartier Group, famous for its jewelry and fashion accessories, prior to creating his own brand.  Inspired by his insatiable interest in varied subjects like ancient civilizations, painting, culture, metalcraft, architecture, world exploration, expeditions, and motor racing, and powered by his vast experience in jewelry and fashion, Philippe Charriol ventured into his own brand in Switzerland in 1983.  His first creation was the now famous “cable” watch—the Celtic—which he called “the watch for the next generation.”

Since then, Philippe Charriol has grown at an astounding rate with the continuous introduction of new watch and jewelry collections, and expanding as well into other accessories like belts, bags, wallets, pens, and other accessories.
